Steps towards assigning VQA as National Europass Center (NEC):

The official letter of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, General Directorate for EU Accession Process dated 06.03.2008 and numbered 381 has stated  that Turkey, which has participated to Life Long Learning Program for 2007-2013 should establish a National Europass Center in accordance with the Council Decision numbered  2241/2005/EC. With the same letter, the Ministry also asked  the contact details of the Center and the infrastractrure studies towards establishing the mentioned Center in order to submit to the Commission.

With the official letter of VQA dated 23.03.2008 in response to the above mentioned letter, it has been stated that  since the issues included in Europass are under the scope of VQA in accordance with the Law  numbered 5544, VQA recommended to take the charge of NEC.  This request has been submitted to the related parties via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and it has been declared that VQA has been assigned as NEC upon the letter from Turkey’s Permanent Representative in Brussel to  EU Commission  dated 28 July 2008.

The organisational studies  towards the implementation of the programme and towards the principles of the cooperation with the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) and Council of Higher Eductaion (CoHE) continue.


Europass Activities in Turkey:


As the National Europass Center of Turkey, Vocational Qualifications Authority will conduct some activities in 2010 under the scope of  projects  named as  “Increasing the Awareness of Europass and Europass Documents in Turkey”.
